Welcome to the CalArts XDP Lighting Department Website, here you can find the resources needed to request a light lab slot, as well as information about the Light Lab itself.
All requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests should be submitted no later than 24 hours in advance, requests submitted after that are not guaranteed a response.
Light Lab is a classroom provided by the School of Theatre to the Lighting Department for the uses of instruction to apply the technology we use today in designs. All its technology and equipment is reserved for the use of students for Light Lab activities. All uses of Light Lab must be scheduled through the provided request form and accepted by the Light Lab TA. Any uses of Light Lab outside of listed uses and equipment must be presented to Lighting Faculty for approval
